Gulf International Bank Organises Blood Donation Campaigns in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility programme ‘WAGIB’, Gulf International Bank (GIB) organised blood donation campaigns for its Bahrain and Saudi Arabia offices’ employees to benefit the communal blood supply in both kingdoms. Altogether 60 members of staff participated in the campaign at the bank’s headquarters in Manama and its office in Dhahran.

GIB CEO Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Helaissi commented on the initiative, saying: “GIB’s employees have donated blood regularly over the years. Donating blood is a noble way to support the local community and its hospitals. People with a rare blood type are encouraged to donate to ensure the hospitals’ supplies are sufficient and as a result lives can be saved. We are delighted to support the communities in this manner.”

The blood donation drive in Dhahran was organised in partnership with King Fahad Specialist Hospital and in Bahrain in collaboration with Salmaniya Hospital.

GIB’s CSR programme ‘WAGIB’ is committed to supporting local communities in which it operates with a range of sustainable development programmes and local initiatives. ‘WAGIB’ emphasises themes with long-term positive results in the fields of youth and career development, women’s empowerment, health awareness and economic development.
