Gulf International Bank is Golf Partner for the Saudi International powered by SBIA

Gulf International Bank (GIB) is the golf partner of the inaugural Saudi International powered by SBIA. The tournament marks the first time the European Tour is being held in the Kingdom, where the third leg of the prestigious ‘Middle East Swing’ is being played.

The Saudi International powered by SBIA is taking place Thursday 31st January until Sunday 3rd February at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in King Abdullah Economic City. The event has attracted some of the world’s finest golfers. This includes four of the world’s top five golfers, eight players from last year’s Ryder Cup and no fewer than seven Major champions.

Commenting, Mr. Abdulaziz A. Al-Helaissi, CEO of GIB, said, “We are delighted to support the hosting of this world-class golfing championship in the Kingdom for the very first time. GIB is deeply committed to participating in initiatives that bring to life the goals and objectives of the Kingdoms’ Vision 2030 and among those are the development of the Kingdom’s sporting, entertainment and tourism industries in the bid for even further growth and diversification. We congratulate the vision and efforts of the Saudi Golf Federation for bringing the European Tour to the Kingdom and for their success in firmly putting Saudi Arabia on the international golfing stage. We also welcome members of the Tour to the Kingdom and wish them a successful tournament.”

The Saudi International powered by SBIA, with its $3.5 million purse, is one of six tournaments to be played on the Arabian Peninsula. It is being hosted by the Saudi Golf Federation, which is the governing body for golf in the Kingdom responsible for development of golf as a sport and for delivering national tournaments.
